Summit Point Motorsports Park

Summit Point Motorsports Park opened in Summit Point, West Virginia in 1969, founded by Pat Goodman and later purchased by World Champion racer Bill Scott in 1979. The Shenandoah Circuit was added in 2005 as the park’s most technical offering. Following Scott’s death, the facility was purchased by Xator Corporation in 2018, maintaining the motorsports commitment while serving as a federal law enforcement training ground.

The Shenandoah Circuit’s full configuration runs 2.2 miles with 22 turns, though karting events utilize a shortened 1.6-1.7 mile layout that bypasses certain corners. The circuit’s signature feature is a dimensional replica of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife’s famous banked Karussell turn with 20 degrees of banking. Significant elevation changes, positive and negative camber sections, and a mix of increasing and decreasing radius turns create one of the most technical karting circuits in the country.

Woodbridge Kart Club hosts regional events at Shenandoah, typically running clockwise though counter-clockwise configurations are used. Located in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle approximately 70 miles from Baltimore-Washington, the facility offers paved paddock parking, electric hook-ups, and clean bathhouses with hot showers.
